About maryann WARD
A 3rd Grade Teacher squelched my artistic ambitions and so my creative self found expression in dance and drama. But now my passion for art is on view in paintings
Growing up in New York, Sundays were museum days. When I was young and could only afford top ramen I bought a woodcut of a “johnny pump” at the Greenwich Village Art Show.
Painting is a very important part of my life and I create what feeds my soul at the moment. I paint exclusively in acrylic and color and composition are important to me.
And as a docent at the Portland Art Museum I hope to encourage young people to love art and not be afraid to create art themselves.
It is my hope that you will enjoy what I paint because I aim to make you smile.
